One day workshops in Thai Yoga Massage


This Introductory Day will give you some basic skills of this ancient healing art to use on friends and family. The day will start with a demonstration. Then you will learn a Thai Yoga Massage sequence on the feet, legs, neck, head and shoulders.

Sunday, 9th March 2008, 10 am to 4.30 pm at the Yoga Hall, St. Albans
Saturday, 15th March 2008, 1 pm to 7 pm at the Integral Yoga Centre Swindon

The course is suitable for

  • complete beginners thinking of starting a career in bodywork
  • people who simply wish to learn an effective massage to practice on friends and family.
  • people already working with alternative therapies who wish to further their studies.
  • yoga and pilates teachers, osteopaths, physiotherapists, dancers and sports people, who will find Thai Yoga Massage invaluable for increasing their hands-on skills.

Syllabus



The course consists of 12 lessons (72 hours). Each lesson begins with a lecture and demonstration, followed by supervised practice. An optional morning meditation and yoga session is offered.

There will be a final assessment and you will receive a certificate of attendance.

Accreditation



If you decide to practice Thai Yoga Massage professionally, you will have to practice 30 full body massages and write an essay of your choice related to Thai Yoga Massage. You will have to take a theoretical and practical exam on your return in the UK with the School of Thai Yoga Massage in London and provide a certificate of a 55 hours Anatomy and Physiology training, which can be done at a local college or through the school. If you already a practitioner this will not be necessary.

I will be available for any questions or practice days during your accreditation.

After qualifying, you will be accepted onto the Traditional Thai Yoga Massage Practitioners Register and by Embody (Complementary Therapy Association).
